Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on 28 October 1967 in Atlanta. She comes from the fourth Roberts family who resided in Atlanta. It started with her grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was farmer. Her father was an early interest in theater. When he was a student of Emory University, he performed in several productions in Atlanta. In 1953, he joined the Air Force and while stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi acted in a production that he performed in with Betty Lou Bredemus. They got married in 1955. Their first baby son Eric Anthony, was born in the year 1956. The couple divorced in 1957. the air force and Walter enrolled at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. In 1960, the family relocated from Louisiana to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working for Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter as well as Betty Lou financed their own production of a Sunday morning show for children, Bum Bum and His Buddies. The Actors and Writers Workshop was created in the year 1964 and ran for 6 years. The couple also had two children: Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also named Lisa), and Julia Billingsley (1967) (also know by the name Julie).
