Tommy Lee-5-1024x1024Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass in Athens on the 3rd of October on 1962. He was the father of David Lee Thomas Bass (American U.S. Army sergeant) and Vassiliki "Voula"Voula Papadimitriou (Greek, Basilike Papademetriou) who was a contestant in the 1957 Miss Greece beauty contest. He is the younger brother of Athena, who is also a drummer. Lee was only two years old when his dad moved the family to California. He also received his first drumsticks around the age of four and his first real drum set when he was sixteen. Lee dropped out from high school to pursue a career in music and began with Suite 19, a L.A.-based club band. 5 As a teenager, he was a fan of Van Halen as well as Led Zeppelin as well as Kiss, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Kiss and Led Zeppelin. John Bonham and Tommy Aldridge were his most significant drumming influences.
